Where your files are processed
Docstools processes files on your own device wherever that is technically possible. Each tool page states which applies to it. At present:

Retention
For browser-based tools there is nothing to retain: your files exist only in your browser tab's memory and are gone when you close or reload the page. If a future tool requires server processing, the uploaded file will be written to isolated temporary storage under a random identifier, used only to produce your result, and deleted once the job completes or expires. That tool's page and this section will describe the exact retention period before it ships.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address or any other identifying detail in order to use a tool.
Usage analytics are currently disabled. When enabled, the events recorded are limited to which tool was used, whether processing succeeded or failed, a category for the failure, a bucketed file count and a rounded duration. Filenames, file sizes and document contents are never sent, and the event payload has no field capable of carrying them.
Advertising
Docstools is funded by display advertising. Advertising is currently disabled on this deployment. No advertising provider has been integrated yet; when one is, this section will name it and describe what it collects, and any applicable consent controls will be in place before it loads.
Server logs
Like any website, requests for pages reach a web server, which records standard request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested path and user agent for security and troubleshooting. Document contents are never written to logs.
